The Yale Hockey Academy is a skills based academy, that specializes in high performance training and elite skill development of athletes during school hours. We operate out of Yale Secondary School as well as the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.
Students receive full credit for their on and off ice training:(P.E. 9,10, and 11 as well as Strength & Conditioning 9,10, and 11)
Our Instructors include Brad Bowen, Andy Nielsen, and Sheldon Todhunter. All of our instructors have had high experience either as player or coaches and are well known in the community for their expertise of elite skill development and Kineisology training.
In addition, the Yale Hockey Academy has full support from BC Amateur Hockey Association, Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association, and Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association
The Yale Hockey Academy operates from September 1st to May 31st. We engage in approx. 85 on-ice sessions that are 1.25 hours in length.
The off-ice program focuses primarily on core training and plyometrics. All Yale Hockey Students are taken through extensive plyometric training, SAQ sessions (Speed, Agility, Quickness) as well as valuable classroom sessions that focus on sports nutrition, sport psychology, and sport injury management. Sheldon Todhunter (St Fitness Ltd.) trains the students every Friday afternoon from 1:15pm to 2:15pm.
Cost for the program is $1800 for the year. This can be financed by submitting 9 post-dated $200 cheques dated Sept 1st through to May 1st. However, we do offer a discounted price for those students who play in the BC Major Midget League. Furthermore, we offer a sibling discount for players who have brothers and sisters in either the Yale Hockey Academy or the Fraser Falcons Middle School Hockey program. (http://www.fmshockey.com)
